Samantha Nieves graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor's degree in illustration. After graduation Samantha passionately pursued professional art, mental health, and special education. Samantha’s paintings have been showcased in galleries both online and across the United States. She also recently illustrated a children's book “Feathers in the Sky”.
While working on her professional art, Samantha also worked in an intensive elementary behavioral program. Samantha’s passion for mental health and emotional regulation blossomed from this program. She wishes to utilize her skill set and has started writing a children's book that provides educators and parents with knowledge that can significantly aid in the understanding of disorders, different coping skills, and social stories in which these skills can be applied. Samantha does this with alliteration and fun characters that are memorable. Samantha wishes to create a series for elementary school aged children that promotes acceptance within special education, mental health disorders, and the lgbtq+ community.
Samantha can be found riding her bike with her daughter, decorating for Halloween way too early, and teaching group paint classes. She is also always on the hunt for self-help books and pumpkin spiced coffee. She is happiest watching movies and playing Mario Party with her husband and daughter!
